This book is cute enough as far as potty books go, and my little boy really enjoys it (especially the flaps). However, I was disappointed to find that apparently firefighters, police officers, train engineers, restaurant servers, etc are all men. There is one female user of the potty, a doctor, which is a relief -- but I always feel a bit strange reading any book that reinforces the idea that only boys grow up to occupy these professions. If you are considering this book for a little girl, or if you are trying to raise a boy in an environment in which it's considered normal for women to be firefighters, officers, doctors, servers, etc, then I would keep this in mind. I don't normally post reviews but this time I thought it was worth mentioning. Having said all of this, it's not very expensive and my son does love it.

Clang! Clang! Clang! The fire truck is pulling out of the station. But wait! Where is the firefighter going? To the potty! Even firefighters go to the potty! Toddlers are uneasy about toilet training. And in most cases, even if they know they have to go, sometimes they are too busy to bother. In this hilarious gate-fold story, each person--from a firefighter on the way to answer a fire alarm to a zoo keeper on the way to feed the polar bears--stops what they are doing to go to the potty. With humor and no pedantics, toddlers learn that everybody uses the potty.
