For the size, this book looks at Seurat's work 'La Grande Jatte' in detail. It has a unique format developed by the publisher and folds out 4 ways. It documents a moment in time yet has become enduring. This book explores many aspects of the painting and also how it evolved, looking at preparatory studies. It gives an insight into the artist, his technique, neo-impressionism and what followed for Seurat after this painting. I enjoyed it very much. In manyhomes, the sports pages are the first to be read every morning. Beyond the scores and plays, we can find issues that are surprisingly significant to our identity and history. From Muhammad Ali's conscientious objection to the Vietnam War, to the Battle of the Sexes waged between tennis players Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, to Frank Robinson and Althea Gibson's struggles to break the colour barriers of baseball and tennis, sports illustrate many facets of life. Centred on the outstanding collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, this fascinating book celebrates athletes' accomplishments, focusing on exceptional athletes and amazing events.
