(More customer reviews)Well-written and consise, this book provides help for most common issues and potential pitfalls of adopting an adult dog. The story of the author's work w/ a "vicious" dog (last chapt.) is especially illustrative of how much adult dogs have to offer, even and perhaps esp. ones that did not grow up in good circumstances.
Further, the book's focus on positive reinforcement and emphasis on training and exercise (read "play") for a dog will prevent many problems if followed.
While writing this review, my newly adopted adult Belgian Shepherd brought me a pair of dirty socks from the laundry basket - time to consult the book! :-]
