While the story is short, being only 150 pages, the author delivers a very interesting take on the human species. In the story the Earth endures a cataclysmic event which faces humans to flee to space cities. The story unfolds where each of the two cities grow and form their civilizations from different basic believes. One becomes more individualistic, where they all fight for power and the other is a more collectivist society where they all help each other to survive.
It then branches outward to people the author calls gifted, who have special abilities, traveling back to Earth to search for crystals that can grant the power of creation.
The two civilizations race against each other for the crystals in belief that whoever collects them first can rule the Earth.
The characters seem easy to relate to and understand. The author leaves a lot in mystery about the characters, obviously because there will be more books in the series.
While this book leaves maybe a little too much to imagination at times and has some mistakes in editing (it happens) it delivers a fun ride and opens a new adventure in science fiction. I recommend it for people who like to use their imagination while reading and who enjoy science fiction or fantasy type books.
