(More customer reviews)Many books on program evaluation focus on complicated techniques, theories, and processes. Phillips' 'Handbook' presents training evaluation in a practical, useful manner. Each chapter clearly presents the whys and hows of training evaluation. He presents the research fundamentals, but also considers the feasibility of many processes used by researchers--offering options to those of us who need evaluation, but work in the 'real-world'. This is by far the best book on evaluation!

This new, third edition of Jack Phillips's classic Handbook of Training Evaluation and Measurement Methods shows the reader not only how to design, implement, and assess the effectiveness of HRD programs, but how to ultimately measure their return on investment (ROI). Each chapter has been revised and updated to include additional research, expanded coverage, and new examples of Dr. Phillips's case studies. Seven entirely new chapters have also been added, focusing largely on ROI.
